On December 21, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council announced that, with the approval of the State Council, China Baowu Steel Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Baowu") and China Steel Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "China Steel Group") implemented a reorganization. China Steel was transferred as a whole to China Baowu and was no longer a company directly supervised by the SASAC. After the reorganization, the number of central enterprises was adjusted from 98 to 97.
